Tips for Submitting Deals to the DSF
Here are some helpful notes from our Deal Specialists regarding posting strategy.
- Search the Slickdeals site to determine if a similar item/product/promotion has been posted previously. If a previous post exists for your product or promotion, is your current pricing lower than (or equal to) the previous pricing? If YES, post the deal. If NO…
- Determine why your item is currently priced higher than before. Is your product a newer model? Was the previous deal a price mistake? If YES, post at your discretion. If NO…
- Inquire as to whether the advertiser/store can offer a lower price. If an older post exists for your current deal, and the older post was not a Frontpage or Popular deal, it is possible that decreasing the price of your item this time around could increase the deal’s chances of moving through the forums. If you can't lower the price of your product, you may not replace the product with a new offer after submitting. Instead, your deal submission will be declined.
- Is your product a good product? If an item isn't well-received by our community of shoppers, there is a good chance that no matter the price (unless it is free) the deal will not receive positive user engagement on Slickdeals.
- Is this a deal that you would share with your friends and family? If it's a lukewarm deal, our Specialists will likely pass on posting.
- If pricing research on Slickdeals yields no results: We are willing to try posting new items into the forums following a search on Amazon/eBay/Walmart. If a comparable item is available for a cheaper price, our users will be less likely to spend more on your item. Slickdeals users prioritize purchasing products of the best value.
- When submitting your deal photos: Make sure your image titles are in English and labeled photo1, photo2, photo3, etc. Photos with different titles in a different language will look like spam to our users and could negatively affect the performance of your deal.
Hot Tip: Do your own pricing research before submitting deals to the Slickdeals team. This will help our Deal Editors review your submission quicker.
Hot Tip: Our Deal Editors will not approve deals that have been posted in the past unless there is a larger discount of $2-$3 or more.
Please remember that a submission to the DSF does not guarantee a post in the forums. Deals submitted, regardless of whether or not they are approved, will count towards your monthly allotment.
